Scientia Global awarded a consulting contract to support and expand the Wireless Broadband Network in Baghdad, Iraq.
Melbourne, FL, (February 10, 2009) – Scientia Global, Inc, a Melbourne, Florida based professional services company, has received a contract to provide consulting services through Kufan Engineering and Technology to the Iraq State Company for Internet Services (SCIS) to support and expand a communications network for Government of Iraq offices. The project, known as the Wireless Broadband Network, or WBBN, is funded by the Iraq Ministry of Communications and involves point to multipoint microwave and potential expansion using the 802.16e WiMax technology to connect the Iraq Government and Ministry offices throughout Baghdad. The consulting contract began February 2, 2009 and has a six-month duration with an option for an additional six months of support.
According to Mr. Ronald Phillips, Principal Consultant with Scientia Global, under the terms of the contract Scientia will provide a full complement of both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Network Engineering & Planning services for the prime contractor Kufan. The O&M Support will include a Remote Network Operations Center coupled with In-Country Field Support. The Network Engineering & Planning effort will focus on solving the challenges faced by all network operators when migrating to Next Generation Network (NGN) and 4G technologies such as WiMax & LTE in order to offer fixed and mobile broadband services.
