Scientia Global awarded a consulting contract to implement a WiMAX banking network for Iraq funded by a World Bank-administered trust fund
Melbourne, FL, (May 01, 2008) – Scientia Global, Inc, a Melbourne, Florida based professional services company, has received a consulting contract to provide consulting services through the Iraq Ministry of Communications (MoC) to implement a
communications network for the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI). The project, known as the Iraqi Interbanking Network or IIBN is funded by a trust fund administered by the World Bank, and involves the implementation of WiMAX and satellite networks that will enable the CBI to electronically process payments of its participant banks. The six monthconsulting contract began March 7, 2008 and ends September 4, 2008.
According to Mr. Mike Rumberger, a telecommunications expert and project manager with Scientia Global, under the terms of the contract Scientia will coordinate the efforts of various participants in the project including the staff of the World Bank, the
Iraq MoC, the Iraq Telecommunications and Post Company (ITPC), the CBI, the Communications and Media Commission (CMC) of Iraq, as well as other interested parties from other Iraqi Ministries and the implementation contractor. The MoC is
located in Baghdad, Iraq while the World Bank is headquartered in Washington, DC.
The IIBN project is expected to be completed sometime this year. Scientia Global had previously provided consulting services under two previous contracts to the MOC during the vendor evaluation and selection process that resulted in a contract being
awarded to the implementing contractor on September 24, 2007.
