JOB DESCRIPTION:

Applies an interdisciplinary approach to assigned projects to enable the realization of successful systems by focusing on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle, documenting requirements, guiding design synthesis and system verification/validation, and controlling change and risk management processes. Occasional travel is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defines, develops, and manages requirements.
  • Performs trade-off analyses of performance, life-cycle cost, risk, producibility, and other system or program requirements.
  • Coordinates Project Risk Management processes.
  • Facilitates Technical Program Reviews internally and with client customers.
  • Tailors and applies disciplined system engineering processes consistent with customer requirements.
  • Coordinates subsystem design and total system integration into new/legacy systems.
  • Defines system life cycle support requirements.
  • Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies.
  • Conducts independent technical investigations/reviews of subsystems design.

EDUCATION:

At a minimum should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science from a college or university accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and Post-Graduate education/training in Systems Engineering.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Ten (10) years of progressively complex work experience in the design, integration, and analysis of defense systems and/or complex commercial systems. Experience should demonstrate the ability to meet the duties described above.

  • Strong organizational, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Excellent customer services skills in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to interpret technical data

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Prior Defense systems experience (military and/or civilian).

OTHER:

  • Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Systems Planning Research Development & Engineering (SPRD&E) and/or Program Management (PM) certification desired.
  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) membership and/or certification desired.
  • US citizenship required.
